Atlas to Atlantic: A first

The Atlas to Atlantic trek started at the summit of Mount Toubkal (4167m), the highest point of North Africa, and finished at sea level, with our feet in the Atlantic Ocean at Agadir. Three hundred kilometres up and down across the Atlas mountains. It was sponsored by adventure travel company Epic Morocco.

Atlas to Atlantic: An Expedition

Preparations are done for the Atlas to Atlantic Expedition. An expedition from the highest point of North Africa, Mount Toubkal at 4167m, to the Atlantic Ocean. 300km straight across the Atlas Mountains, self-supported. It hasn't been done before. It is a first. And it is sponsored by adventure travel company, Epic Morocco.

This afternoon, there was a violent rainstorm. As it drew closer, the whole family, sprang into action, covering the tent with a big sheet of plastic, doing the same to all the piles of provisions, bringing in anything that might get ruined by the rain and making sure the firewood had somewhere dry to sit.

210 goats, 1 sheep, 7 mules, 10 camels, 3 donkeys, 2 dogs, 22 people and one chicken. It was crowded in the early morning light as we kicked off the first proper day of the migration.
