Walking the Hebridean Way

In August 2025 I walked the Hebridean Way. It is 250km long and it took me 15 days. I wild camped, was self-supported and hiked solo.

This was a fantastic adventure starting in Vatersay and ending in Stornoway.  I began in a storm but was lucky with the weather in week two. The main challenges on this hike were the long intervals between shops or cafes so you had to carry a lot of food and make sure you didn’t run out of things like gas also the terrain which was either bog or tarmac.

The big wins on the Hebridean Way are the magnificent scenery, the kind people and being out in the wild on your own all the time. It was six days before I saw another hiker. Also, the wildlife!

I documented it all – so have a look. Here is the round up blog: https://alicemorrison.co.uk/hiking-the-hebridean-way/
